MY STORY

Welcome! My name is Ashleigh. I am a passionate dressage rider who thrives on building confidence in riders and improve their understanding as to WHY we do the things we do with horses! I am a certified Equestrian Australia coach and have been professionally instructing riders for over 10 years. Additionally I hold a Diploma in Performance Horse Management, a Certificate III in Agriculture (horse breeding) and also a Certificate III in Sports Coaching. After having worked for, ridden and been trained by FEI riders, EA coach educators and many other mentors that specialise in horse psychology, ground work and a variety of breakers, it was time to go solo and share my knowledge and passion in a holistic setting.
I am now based at Equus; a beautiful 60-acre property in Nar Nar Goon North. This property is owned by racehorse trainer and re-trainer Lyn Shand. Lyn has generously offered me the use of her educated school horses, many of which are ex-racehorses enjoying a life after racing. Amongst these Thoroughbreds are other horses too of course, but all are well-schooled with pony club and eventing experience. This means riders are able to “step it up” with their skill building and knowledge, by riding “real” horses (compared to what we may see in a typical riding school environment).
